Dr. Cannizzaro and PCU Visit Guidelines

Welcome to Dr. Cannizzaro's practice! The following are some general guidelines and explanations to help you understand our two offices and how we work together to serve your children.
In order to maintain continuity and awareness of your childs growth, development and health, it is imperative that routine physical examinations be performed. To maintain an active status in Dr. Cannizzaro's practice, the following schedule of routine examinations and immunizations is followed. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends this schedule.
6 Weeks or 2 Months:    DTaP, IPV, Hib, Prevnar
10 Weeks or 3 Months:    Hepatitis B
14 Weeks or 5 Months:    DTaP, IPV, Hib
5 Months:    Hepatitis B, no appointment needed for this shot. This may be given at the PCU.
6 Months:      Dtap, Hib, Prevnar
9 Months:     Hepatitis B, Hemaglobin
1 Year:       PPD, Prevnar
15 Months:     MMR, Hib
18 Months:     DTaP, IPV
2 Years:       Physical Exam, Varivax
2 Years and 6 Months:      Physical Exam
3 Years:      Yearly Physical Exam
4 Years:      Dtap, IPV
5 Years:     MMR, PPD, Urinalysis
6 to 21 Years Old (and every 7 to 10 years after):     Yearly physical examinations, TD Booster and PPD
Entrance to College: Menomune
Visits and immunizations for your child might be slightly different, since children begin this schedule at different times. Patients can contact the office staff during normal office hours with medical, billing and insurance questions from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Well visits are by appointment only. Appointment times are Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. If your child is sick, you may call the office between 9:00 AM and 9:30Am for an available appointment for that day, or use the always-convenient walk-in facilities of the PCU. In the PCU we have Anna Velocci, PA, James McAleer, MD, and Melody Johnson, PA-C. Well visits are also scheduled with these providers through the PCU. For urgent matters please call (407) 862-1163.
Well patients follow the same immunization and emergency call procedures as Dr. Cannizzaro's practice. Sick visits are on a walk-in basis with no appointments needed. Hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday thru Friday, and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday. We are closed on Sunday. We ask patients to be here by 4:30 PM weekdays unless there is an emergency. On major holidays, we are closed. Please check the PCU sign out front, by the driveway, for holiday schedule changes.
